University of Houston Health and Biomedical Sciences Center Wins Landmark Award
April 25, 2014 – Houston
It’s no secret that Houston is emerging, and quickly, as a world class city and hub for new development. Each year the Houston Business Journal honors those commercial real estate projects which stand out the most. Over 100 projects were nominated across 17 categories this year and TIMES is proud to reside in the winner of the Medical classification, the Health and Biomedical Sciences Center.
The Health and Biomedical Sciences Center Building is the anchor for a research sector on the University of Houston campus, which will draw visitors from around the world and aid in the recruitment of key new faculty studying human genetics, biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, and psychology…In addition, the building enables researchers from optometry, psychology, neuroscience, natural sciences, mathematics, pharmacy, social sciences, and liberal arts to collaborate more easily on interdisciplinary projects that advance university-wide research.
The win designates the HBSB as an official Houston Landmark. Other finalists included Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s 2013 Community Expansion Campaign and San Jacinto College South Campus Science and Allied Health Building. The awards were held on April 24, 2014 at the Houstonian Hotel.
